Places of Change

Alaysia's Place

I took this photo at Circle Lake.

Firstly, I liked this perspective of the lake because it shows the water's depth and gives the viewers a glimpse of the life inside. To build on that, I feel like lakes are often important social and cultural spaces for communities around the world. It can capture the evolving relationship between humans and nature, reflecting shifts in lifestyles, values, and the ways in which people interact with their environment. The lake outside of a social aspect could also represent adaptation. When things around a lake change, the lake and its ecosystem does not just collapse, but it changes,

adapts, and in some cases thrives even better than before.

I can take this ideology into account in my life when I go through drastic changes that seem exceedingly difficult to navigate and remember how a lake does not crumble and shut down, but it builds itself back up to function and thrive in the environment it inhabits.
