Places of Change

Eleasha's Place

Welcome back to my zine!

Within this zine, we were tasked with expanding our ways of thinking about change by going out to different locations and placing our foam sharks! I decided to name mine Sharkey as a way to preserve innocence as well as display how limiting I can be when it comes to naming anything. Sharkey wanted to take a trip to the Healing and Medicinal Garden, so that is exactly where I took him.

We wanted to highlight how nature and wellness tie into one another. Quoted by the American Society of Landscape Architects, "Researchers are amassing a body of evidence, proving what we all know to be true: nature is good for us and has both long- and short-term mental and physical health benefits." With this statement in mind, I wanted to connect my very own love for nature with Sharkey and other people's experiences. Within this environment, I also wanted to highlight how silent and closed-off it was. Both I and Sharkey were able to experience the depth of nature and how truly impactful it can be! I hope you will follow us both on our forthcoming adventure.
